Membership
Eligibility
Any person who subscribes to the purpose and policy of the League of Women Voters of Brookhaven
shall be eligible for membership. Voting members must be citizens of the age 18
or older. All others can join as associate members.
Citizenship
You will gain knowledge and experience in your community through the study and
discussion of topics that affect you and your neighbors. Our committees launch
important projects that provide a valuable service to the community. The League
provides many opportunities to discover new interests, develop new skills and
learn about crucial issues in our community. You will meet others who share your
interests, make professional contacts, build your resume and develop lasting
friendships.
Benefits
You automatically become a member of LWV New York and LWV of the United States,
receiving their publications, along with the local League newsletters. You will
have the satisfaction that you are adding your voice to a powerful force of
members from all 50 states, Washington DC and the Virgin Islands.

volunteer organization working to promote political responsibility through the
informed, active participation of citizens in government. The League does
not support or oppose any political party or candidate. It does support or
oppose legislation after serious study and substantial agreement among its
members. Membership is open to everyone.
