(There are two new Town Committees to add to Page 22, et seq.)
Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board -
The Board has a limited charter which expires on February28, 2009.
It is charged with reviewing the town’s progress toward the goals set
forth in the 1994 Comprehensive Plan which constituted a policy guide to the
development of Shelter Island.
Among other things, the Board will update the demographic data including
population, summer residency levels, housing distribution, maximum

Green Options Committee-
The Committee is an advisory committee that serves to suggest “initiatives
to support a range of environmentally sustainable practices and policies.”
These initiatives may include educational outreach, legislation or
other appropriate measures.
