THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS ®

Shelter Island is in Suffolk County, New York State, about 88 miles (140 kilometers) east of New York City in Gardiners Bay, between the north and south forks of Long Island.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, volunteer organization working to promote political responsibility through the informed, active participation of citizens in government.  The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.  It does support or oppose legislation after serious study and substantial agreement among its members. Membership is open to everyone.

The public is invited to attend all general League meetings.
