I am in college away from home.
How may I cast my vote?

If you are registered to vote in New York State, you may ask your parents or the Suffolk County Board of Elections to send you an absentee ballot. If you have resided in the area of your college in New York State for 30 days or more, you may register to vote in that county. If you wish to vote in Suffolk County, mail the absentee ballot to:

STUDENT VOTING RIGHTS - The Brennan Center at the NYU School of Law has an excellent website that provides the requirements for residency, registration, ID and absentee ballot for all 50 states. It is applicable to all voters, not just students. There is also a page specifically for New York voters.
