 Paper Ballot Optical Scanner (PBOS) is a Winner

All but one county in New York will be voting on PBOS next year. The commissioners in all counties  except for Hamilton County chose ballot marking devices compatible with paper ballots and scanners.    Most of the counties, including Suffolk and Nassau counties have chosen the Sequoia Image Cast Ballot Marking Device/Scanner.   The testing of all these ballot markers was completed on  Feb. 27.   Purchase orders are being issued.  One ballot marker will be ordered for each polling site this year for the handicapped as per the agreement with the DOJ and all lever voting machines will be replaced by the PBOS in 2009.  We can make arrangements to have a demonstration of the Sequoia Scanner.
